Custodians of the Written Word

A digital sanctuary dedicated to the haptic richness of literature and the preservation of rare antiquarian thought.

Our Humble Beginnings

It began with a single dust-covered volume found in a cellar in Edinburgh. Our founder, Arthur Penhaligon, realized that as the world accelerated toward the ephemeral, the weight and wisdom of the physical book were being lost.

What started as a private collection of seventeenth-century poetry soon grew into a mission: to curate, preserve, and share the scholarly treasures that define our collective human consciousness.
